My story

My story is one of finding my place and finding my passion. 

Throughout school, I never quite fit in and was considered mostly average (but somewhat annoying).

I found success in music, honing my skills and becoming pretty talented - at 16 I started playing professionally. This formed a core of friends I still have today.

Although I initially attempted engineering, I faced rejection and was left somewhat lost. However, fate had other plans for me, as I secured admission into a Science Degree at Auckland University in Computer Science at just the right time.

This opportunity led me to embark on a journey with Qbik, where I gained invaluable experience and expertise building WinGate as I learned a lot about building companies.

After gaining invaluable experience with Qbik, I was ready for a new challenge. That's when I embarked on an exciting journey with Goldman Sachs as an analyst. Working with this renowned financial institution allowed me to sharpen my analytical skills and gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of the global markets. It was a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment that pushed me to constantly learn and grow.

My ambitions didn't stop there. I was determined to broaden my horizons and take on new responsibilities. That's when I joined JBWere as the COO. This role allowed me to leverage my expertise in financial operations and strategic management to drive the company's success. I thrived in this position, overseeing various aspects of the business and collaborating with talented professionals. My time at JBWere taught me the importance of effective leadership and the ability to navigate complex challenges. It was a transformative experience that solidified my passion for the financial industry and opened doors to new opportunities.

Along the way, I travel and met a partner, with whom I eventually married and had children. While our paths eventually diverged, I was driven to start a a new venture.

Ambit.AI was born. An AI company using the leading edge of tech, where I could utilize my skills and build a team. And I discovered an enjoyment for public speaking. Ambit has been chosen in the Matchstiq Top 100 tech companies to work for 3 years running - and as an NZX most promising startup.

My journey showcases the power of resilience and the ability to adapt, ultimately leading me to find fulfillment in unexpected places.
